About

We. Dawn and Aaron, sold our house in the city of Edmonton and bought the small farm property near the Town of Lamont. We fell in love with the quiet that farm life brings. Our vision was to have a small u-pick garden so that the people that love fresh from the garden vegetables could come and pick their own straight off the plant.

In the spring of 2020 we began to build the garden. First we built and filled in the raised beds. Then we started the construction of the hoop house in between the rain storms.

We questioned if we should start this adventure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission statement always included the vision to donate a portion to the local food bank that supports Lamont County, so we continued with the venture.

The year brought with it a lot of cool wet weather that slowed down the growth of many vegetables. The cool weather crops such as lettuce, peas and spinach thrived. This meant that we had an excess of these crops that the County of Lamont Food Bank gladly accepted.

As the season wore on, more and more people began to visit and they enjoyed the easy picking that the raised beds and hoop house allowed.

In the fall we added over 20 fruits trees. The trees we planted include three types of apples (September Ruby, Goodland and HoneyCrisp), apricots, two types of plums (BrookRed and Pembina) and three types of cherries (Nanking, Cupid, Crimson Passion). The fruit trees will bear fruit soon.

We have began our expansion by creating a new in ground bed system that equates to roughly 3000 sqft of growing space. In this new location we will be adding raspberries and strawberries to our fruit offering. We will also be adding potatoes, onions and pickling cucumbers for your picking.

We look forward to your visit.
